In partnership with OneOC a fiscal non-profit 501c3,509a1, benefiting the Living to Love Another Day Community Initiative (Nicholas H. Guy Acevedo Memorial Trust), the 2nd Annual Live to Love Another Day Golf Tournament will bring awareness and donations to help young people battling depression.
Please join us on Friday, September 16, 2022, as we celebrate Nick’s life and raise money to help organizations that are helping prevent suicide by assisting youth with mental health issues. We’d love it if you considered sponsoring our event or donating on Nick’s behalf for this great cause. Proceeds will go to Orangewood Foundation, Active Minds, and other local organizations that are focused on supporting young adults and youth with mental health and suicide prevention initiatives. A reminder that sponsorship and a portion of players’ fees are tax-deductible. Thank you!

Tournament Information
144 Players – Two Flights
Golf format: Each foursome will score each hole using a scramble format. No minimum number of drives for each player. Ladies tee from the red tee markers and men under 60 years of age hit from the blue tee markers – finally, men 60 and overhit from the white tee markers. Men are to use these assigned tee markers throughout, except for the par 3’s – where specified tee locations will be used to qualify for the hole-in-one opportunities. Each group should appoint a scorekeeper and a captain to help select the “best” shot and when to use a mulligan – see more on mulligans below.
Everyone hits a drive, and one of the drives is selected for everyone to play from next. Each player can place a ball within one club-length of the selected shot for their next shot (including striker of the selected shot – but once on the green, each player places a ball within a putter head of the selected shot for their putt). This continues until the ball is holed out and the score is final for the hole. For example, to score a 4 on a par 4, the best drive is selected, everyone places a ball there and hits again. Once any ball is on the green, the ball in the best position is selected and everyone putts from that spot. After everyone hits their putts, the best position is selected again, and all putt from that spot. Once a putt is made, that determines the score on that hole, so if in this example it took two putts to hole out, the score for that hole is a 4 (please pick up if it is evident that the whole score will be double bogey or greater and score a double bogey for the hole without finishing)
Mulligans may be purchased individually or four for the foursome. The limit is 4 mulligans per foursome. A mulligan may be used at any time by any player with the limit being 4 mulligans per foursome. A mulligan is a free “do-over” and is typically used when the foursome believes another try will produce better results. For example, e.g., After everyone hits, it is deemed the fifth putt or shot will make a better score after four missed putts or four bad shots.
Awards: the low gross score will win $800 for the foursome. The second low gross score will win $400 for the foursome, and the third low gross score will win $200. Finally, the highest gross score will win $200 for the foursome.
Closest to The Pin: shots will be on holes #9 and #18, awarded $100 each. To qualify, the closest to the pin measurement must come from a ball that came to rest on the green (a ball touching the green is deemed on the green). The longest drive will be on hole #12, and to qualify, the drive must come to rest in the #12 fairway (a ball touching the fairway is deemed on the fairway). The award for the longest drive is $100.
Every par 3 will have a hole-in-one prize. The first par 3 is hole # 7 and the prize for a hole-in-one is a vacation for 4 at (TBD). The second par 3 is hole # 9 and the prize for a hole-in-one is $10,000 cash split 50/50 with the player and the Living to Love Another Day Fund. The third par 3 is hole # 14 and the prize for a hole-in-one is the choice between a swing caddie sc200 portable launch monitor or an l4 laser range finder with a slope. The final par 3 is hole # 18 and the prize for a hole-in-one is a $500 Nike golf shopping spree. Hit good shots on these par 3’s and make that hole-in-one!
